Root Capital was formed in late 2000 to provide Private Equity in the technology and services sector. The team is led by senior peoples have twenty years of experience as entrepreneurs, managers and investors in the technology and services sector, with a track record of successful business turnarounds and start-ups. Root Capital funds are provided by the partners and associated family trusts. Root Capital will generally make equity investments of between 1 million USD and 4 million USD in companies with revenues of between 1 million and 50 million USD, and is able to lead much larger deals with known co-investors. Root Capital relishes challenging deals, including public-to-privates, distressed situations and businesses which need major changes to improve their underlying strength and value. In all cases, Root Capital works closely with management and becomes extremely hands-on with all aspects of a business. We contribute a unique mix of hands-on operational know-how, sector specialisation and investment experience, unlike most other private equity firms. The team is able to react swiftly, decisively and creatively to new opportunities as they arise.
